Dr. Calvin Nobles is a cybersecurity executive, educator, and human factors researcher whose career has spanned military service, Fortune 100 leadership, and academic administration at the highest levels.

As Portfolio Vice President and Dean of the School of Cybersecurity and Information Technology at the University of Maryland Global Campus, Calvin leads one of the largest cybersecurity programs in the nation, preparing the workforce that will defend the digital infrastructure of tomorrow.

We have to stop admiring the human factors problem in cybersecurity, and start engineering systems around the people who use them.

Calvin previously served as Department Chair of Information Technology and Management at the Illinois Institute of Technology and Vice President for Technology Relationship Management at Wells Fargo. A retired U.S. Navy Officer with 25 years of service, his work bridges the operational realities of cybersecurity with the academic rigor required to advance the field.

His research focuses on human factors in cybersecurity, organizational risk, the weaponization of artificial intelligence, and building sustainable cyber talent pipelines. He is a Harvard Cybersecurity Policy Fellow, a New American Think Tank Fellow, and serves on the boards of the National Cryptologic Foundation, Cybersecurity Association Inc., and Maryland Cyber Trust.

Calvin holds four doctoral degrees and five master's degrees, and is a member of The Original Forty Club, a distinguished social club based in Chicago.
